Atlanta, GA – It is with great honor that we announce that HIV Dental Alliance's Founder and President, Dr. David Reznik, had been elected to the Georgia Board of Dentistry. Dr. Reznik was appointed to the board of the Georgia Board of Dentistry in 2021 and has made an impact on dentistry throughout Georgia and the world. Dr. Reznik has a dedication to professional excellence, and his reach has been extensive.
Dr. David Reznik is a graduate of Emory College and Emory University’s School of Dentistry and is the Director of the Oral Health Center of Grady’s Infectious Disease Program, which he founded 26 years ago. Dr. Reznik serves as Chief of the Dental Medicine Service for the Grady Health System. Dr. Reznik is president and founder of the HIV Dental Alliance (HIVdent.org), a not-for-profit organization of concerned healthcare providers committed to assuring access to high quality oral health care services for people living with HIV disease.
Dr. Reznik set up oral health programs throughout the United States for the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (HAB). He has also lectured and published extensively on HIV, oral health and access to care. Dr. Reznik served as chair of the Treatment and Care and Domestic sub-committees as an appointee of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS (2002 – 2007).
Dr. Reznik’s research includes Epidemiology of candidiasis in HIV+ patients, treatment and typing of human papilloma virus-related oral diseases, metagenomics of HIV-related periodontal disease, and HIV/AIDS Screening in the Dental Setting. Dr. Reznik has put together CE courses in conjunction with Henry Schein and also published numerous articles on HIV/AIDS in the dental setting.
